Lahaina Jodo Mission
On the entry to the temple you see the message, “Namu Amida Butsu”. When I first stumbled across this temple tucked between Baby Beach and Mala Ramp, I knew I was in the right place and the right time. To find this perfect place for meditation, with the words given to my father when he was in his final days in hospice care, “Namu Amida Butsu”, “we are one with infinite light”, stands out as a very special gift from Mother Maui, herself.
This place connects me to the sacred, amid all the fun beach vacation activities Maui is well known for, this place offers a vacation from the tourist vacation and a way to dive into the journey of the inner self.
